Relationship Issues, Separation & Divorce
You do not have to figure this out alone.
When the Life You Built No Longer Fits
You did everything you were supposed to do. You showed up, compromised, tried harder, and hoped longer. And still, somewhere along the way, the marriage stopped feeling like home. Maybe it ended suddenly. Maybe it unraveled so slowly you barely noticed until you were already gone. Maybe you are the one who finally said the words out loud. Maybe the words were said to you.
However you got here, there is probably a part of you that feels like you have failed. Let me say this clearly - choosing yourself is not failure. Outgrowing a life that no longer fits is not failure. Staying too long does not make you weak, and leaving does not make you bad. You are a human being in a painful transition, and you deserve support while you move through it.
The In-Between Is the Hardest Part
Separation is limbo. You are no longer the person you were inside the marriage, and not yet the person you are becoming. The logistics feel endless - attorneys, paperwork, finances, a life split into two columns - and beneath all of it is a grief that few people know how to name.
You may mourn the future that will not happen now. You may feel a freedom that resembles vertigo more than relief. You may wonder if you are doing the right thing one hour and be absolutely certain the next. All of it makes sense. You are not falling apart. You are in the middle of something life altering.
Co-Parenting, Family, and Outside Opinions
With children, the weight doubles. You are managing your own heartbreak while trying to keep theirs as small as possible. You negotiate schedules with someone you may not wish to speak to. You answer questions that have no clean answers. Friends choose sides. Family has opinions. Everyone has a version of what you should do, and almost no one sees the full picture.
Here, for one hour, you do not have to manage anyone's feelings but your own. You get to be honest about how hard this is, without performing strength or pretending you have it all handled.
Who Even Are You Right Now?
So much of your identity became wrapped up in being a partner, half of a pair, the one who held everything together. When that role ends, one question can stop you cold - who am I now?
That question is not a crisis. It is an uncomfortable, essential invitation to rediscover who you are and what you actually want in this one precious life ahead of you. You are allowed to want more than survival. You are allowed to want joy, peace, partnership, solitude, adventure, or something you cannot even name yet.
This Is Where the Next Chapter Begins
This is some of the most alive work I do. Together we grieve what is ending and begin to cultivate a new path forward. We rebuild trust in your judgment, move through the anger and the guilt, and welcome the version of you that has been waiting for permission.
New beginnings rarely arrive with fanfare. More often they begin with one honest conversation about where you are and what you want most - and the first sentence of a brave new story.
“When we deny the story, it defines us. When we own the story, we can write a brave new ending.”
- Brené Brown
A new chapter starts with one honest conversation.
