# Online Therapy in Walnut Creek 

A commuter household runs on a schedule with no slack in it. Everyone is accounted for, everything is handled, and the whole thing depends on one or two people never dropping anything.

I am licensed in California and see clients by video, so anyone physically located in Walnut Creek can work with me without adding another trip to the day.

## The Competence Trap 

You are extremely good at running things. The calendar, the appointments, the aging parent in another county, the group text nobody else organizes. Because you are good at it, it is all yours now.

Competence is a strange trap. It looks like strength and it functions like a sentence. The better you manage, the less anyone asks how you are, and the harder it becomes to say that you are not managing at all.

Sessions often begin with you giving me a status report on everyone else. We will get to you.

## When the Marriage Has Gone Quiet 

Two people can run a household competently for years without ever really talking. Logistics fill the space. Then the kids get older, the logistics thin out, and the silence becomes noticeable.

Sometimes that is repairable and sometimes it is the beginning of something else. Either way, it deserves a real conversation with someone outside the marriage.

I work with people at every point on that line, including people who have not decided anything yet.

## The Work I Do 

Grief and loss, narcissistic abuse and relationship trauma, separation, divorce, and the ending of important relationships, and pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting challenges.

My practice is based in Berkeley and all sessions are held online, which for East Bay families usually means therapy that survives a busy month.
