# Online Therapy in Sacramento 

Sacramento is a city of people whose jobs are the public: state agencies, hospitals, schools, courts, social services. That work has a specific kind of tiredness attached to it.

I am licensed in California and see clients by video, so anyone physically located in Sacramento can work with me.

## The Weariness That Comes With Caring for the Public 

It is not usually one terrible day. It is years of doing careful work inside a system that will not move as fast as the need in front of you, and absorbing the frustration of people who have every reason to be frustrated.

Over time that produces something flatter than exhaustion. You still do the job well. You just do not feel much doing it, and you are short with the people at home who did nothing wrong.

Naming that out loud, to someone who is not a colleague and not your supervisor, changes what it weighs.

## When the Institution Cannot Be Fixed by You 

Much of institutional burnout comes from being held responsible for outcomes you do not control. You know the caseload is impossible. You carry it as though it is a personal failing anyway.

We work on separating what is genuinely yours from what belongs to the structure, which is not resignation. People who can tell the difference last longer and go home in better shape.

We also look at what has been quietly given up along the way, and whether you want it back.

## The Work I Do 

My focus is grief and loss, recovery from narcissistic abuse and relationship trauma, separation and divorce, and pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting challenges.

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which suits people who cannot change their circumstances quickly but can change their relationship to what they are carrying while they figure out the rest.

Sessions are online, which for shift-heavy schedules tends to be the difference between attending and rescheduling.
