# Online Therapy in Oakland 

Oakland is a city I know well from across the bay, and one people tend to be genuinely attached to rather than simply resident in.

I am licensed in California and see clients by video, so anyone physically located in Oakland can work with me without adding a drive to the day.

## Loving a Place That Keeps Changing Underneath You 

Rent goes up. A neighbor leaves. The corner that anchored your sense of the block turns into something you do not recognize. None of it is a single event you can point to, which is exactly why it is hard to name as loss.

People often arrive talking about something else entirely and only later mention that they are not sure how much longer they can stay in the city they built a life in.

That counts here. Grief attaches to places and communities, not only to people.

## Carrying a Lot for a Lot of People 

Oakland runs on people who show up: for family, for neighbors, for organizing work, for the friend whose situation is worse than yours. Being that person is meaningful, and it is also a reliable route to running on empty without noticing.

If you are the one everybody calls, you may have very little practice being the one who needs something. Sessions often start with a long apology for taking up the hour.

We look at what it has cost to be that dependable, and at what changes when you stop treating your own limits as a character flaw.

## The Work I Do 

I specialize in grief and loss, narcissistic abuse and relationship trauma, separation and divorce, and pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting challenges.

The approach is collaborative and unhurried. I am not going to hand you a worksheet and a five-week plan. We figure out what is actually happening, then work on it at a pace your nervous system can tolerate.

Everything is by video, which for most people means fewer canceled sessions and no parking.
