# Online Therapy in Irvine 

In a lot of Irvine households, the standard was set before you were old enough to negotiate it, and it was set by people who sacrificed a great deal to make that standard possible.

I am licensed in California and see clients entirely by video, so anyone physically located in Irvine can work with me from home.

## Perfectionism That Was Inherited 

It is difficult to argue with a standard that came wrapped in genuine love and genuine sacrifice. Your parents wanted your life to be easier than theirs. The way they made that happen was by expecting a great deal of you.

So you achieve, and the achievement never quite settles, and any ordinary mistake registers as evidence of something larger. Now you may be watching yourself pass the same pressure to your own children and not knowing how to stop.

That pattern can change without anyone being cast as the villain.

## Stigma and the Fear of Being Seen Getting Help 

In many families, therapy is understood as something for people who have fallen apart, and admitting you need it is a report card on your parents as much as on you.

Meeting online means there is no office to be seen entering. For a lot of people, that is the difference between considering therapy and actually starting.

I do not require you to indict your family in order to work on what you are carrying. Loyalty and honesty can hold together here.

## My Areas of Work 

Grief and loss, recovery from narcissistic abuse and relationship trauma, separation and divorce, and pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting challenges.

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which is practical, values-driven, and does not treat feeling things as the point in itself.
