# Know What to Expect 

Your rights under the No Surprises Act.

## Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. This applies to clients who are not using insurance and to clients who choose to pay out of pocket.

Under the law, health care providers must give clients who do not have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for services, including psychotherapy.

## What This Means for You

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including therapy.

You can ask for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment. If you request one, I will provide it in writing within the timeframes required by law.

My current session fee is $230 for a 50-minute individual session. The total cost of therapy depends on how long we work together, which is shaped by your needs and goals, and we will discuss this openly as we go.

## If You Are Billed More Than the Estimate

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.
